These forms provide optimal conditions for dough proofing, helping to create an even texture and a golden crust on the finished bread. With proper care, the basket will bring you joy for years to come!
Advantages:
- Natural Material: Wood pulp is an eco-friendly and biodegradable material, making these forms safe for health and the environment.
- Optimal Air Circulation: The porous structure of wood pulp ensures effective air circulation, allowing the dough to rise evenly and achieve the perfect texture.
- Antibacterial Properties: The natural properties of wood pulp prevent the formation of bacteria and mold, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene during proofing.
This convenient basket is ideal for both home bakers and professionals who want the perfect crust time and time again. Handmade in Germany, it follows a time-tested 100-year formula that has won the hearts of bakers worldwide.
The baskets are handmade, so minor imperfections may occur, but they do not affect the effectiveness of the basket.
First Use: Before using the wood pulp basket, it is important to prepare it properly:
- Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F), turn it off after 3 minutes, and place the basket inside for 20 minutes. Allow it to cool completely. This process ensures dryness and cleanliness.
- Generously sprinkle the interior with flour, distributing it evenly with your fingers. Shake off any excess flour.
- Store the basket in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to maintain its integrity.
Using the Basket: For daily use, the wood pulp basket requires simple but effective care:
- Allow the dough to rest for at least 30 minutes before shaping.
- Thoroughly flour the basket and the dough to prevent sticking.
- After each use, let the banneton dry completely before storing.
Cleaning:
- Remove any dough or flour residue with a soft brush. Never wash with water or soap to preserve the wood pulp.
Warnings and Care:
- Avoid using water or soap for cleaning.
- Always thoroughly dry the basket to prevent mold and damage.
- If using an oven for drying, make sure it is turned off and use only residual heat.
